The new Plastic site
The new plastic factory is at full production speed!
Here is an interview with Johan Sverkersson, CEO of National Plast.
What has the new factory meant for the business?
- It is a huge boost for the business, in terms of improved working environment, safety, sustainability and increased efficiency.
What does the machinery park look like in the new factory?
- Today we have 6 injection molding machines between 400-700 tons clamping force, shot weight between 1.5-3 kg, 5 120-250 tons 200-600g and 4 30-60 tons 50-120g shot weight, all with robots and direct recycling of ingots (scrap). 4 of the machines are brand new!
Which major sustainability gains with the facility do you want to highlight?
- Since we placed great emphasis on energy consumption already when planning the complete production plant, we have maximized the benefit of the supplied energy - through this we become enormously energy efficient. To be able to prove this, we have 40 measuring points for measuring the energy consumption in real time, in this way we can directly see energy thieves in the system and remove them. We also get a value of the energy consumption per manufactured article and can thus, by extension, calculate the total CO2 footprint of each manufactured article.
What benefits do you see for customers?
- We can give the customer a value on the CO2 footprint that their products create in our manufacturing and thus help them in their quest for sustainability. Furthermore, a low energy consumption is a way to be more affordable and enables lower prices even in the long term.
If you were to highlight a particularly sustainable product, which one would it be?
- It has to be the forest planting boards for nurseries globally, here we use 100% post consumer PP to produce the planting bed itself for propagating tree seedlings, we make sure that approx. 1000 tons of plastic "rubbish" annually does not end up in nature but becomes breeding ground for new trees which are planted around the world. It feels good!

Stockholm Furniture Fair
We present ourselves at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. So grateful that our polyester fiber absorbents are liked by visitors. For a long time, we have collaborated with furniture manufacturers to produce details for furniture, but this is the first time we are attending a pure furniture fair. It gives energy forward!

Tom Rössel shares some highlights of 2023 ✍
Now that the year is coming to an end, I want to take the opportunity to thank you all - customers, employees and suppliers - for a fantastic year. We have received more awards than ever before, which makes us confident that we are ”working on” in the right direction.
- It started with us being awarded for the best Automotive Supplier of the Year by FKG -The Scandinavian Association for Suppliers to the Automotive Industry, which we of course are very proud of. There are many companies that work hard in the automotive industry, and this award shows that we deliver a value to our customers.
- The material and tape manufacturer Nitto named us Gold Partner this year. We received this award mainly due to our sustainability work.
- We were awarded for The economic prize in our Region with the justification that we are a stable industrial manufacturer that constantly drives innovation and sustainability forward.
- Another big deal in 2023 was that our new factory for injection molding could be inaugurated in Halmstad. With this investment, we can now offer an even better production of plastic products with a focus on sustainable production.
In connection with the opening, we held an open house for our customers and suppliers. Over 150 people mingled and made valuable contacts with each other in a very positive way.
- We shouldn't forget our exhibition at Foam Expo in Stuttgart either. We met many potential customers and our self-developed fiber-coated stand was informally chosen as the year's best exhibition stand.
- In conclusion I would also like to mention a special event that occurred 2023 – which was very special for me, who loves tennis. In the Nitto Master Play-offs, our talented, young employee Niclas Hansson was given the honor of drawing the match between the giants Djokovic and Sinner. It was a great feeling for both him and us to experience!

National, Ginatricot and Helly Hansen
In an exciting collaboration with Rewin, National are helping to lay the foundation for a pioneering polyester recycling. The increased demand for recycled polyester is a reality, and in our industry we face the challenge that supply is limited. Together with Rewin and several partners, we are shaping the future of the textile industry by creating a circular business model for recycled polyester.
60% of all newly produced textiles are made of polyester, but despite the significant environmental impact of fossil-based production, only a negligible fraction is recycled. Rewin aims to change this with its unique technology and business model for polyester recycling. The establishment of a polyester recycling facility is part of an innovation project realized in collaboration with Wargön Innovation, leveraging its expertise in textile circularity, and Vargön Alloys, contributing waste heat to create an energy-efficient recycling process.

National wins the Supplier of the year award!
The industry organization FKG (The Scandinavian Association for Suppliers to the Automotive Industry) awards National Sweden the ”Supplier of the Year Award 2023
National Sweden - manufacturer and supplier of fiber, plastic and rubber products - is awarded Supplier of the Year Award 2023
Above all, it is the National Group's sustainability work that is awarded by the industry organization for the Swedish supplier industry, FKG.
”We are overwhelmed and extremely happy about this honourable award! In fact - we were proud just to be nominated!", explained Johan Rössel, Sales Account Manager and part owner of National Sweden, as he received the award together with Joakim Fritz, VP and Business Development Director, at the Annual Suppliers Day in Gothenburg.
The jury's reasoning reads as follows:
”Using the earth's resources in a more efficient way is a decisive effort to reach the necessary climate goals. In the future, acting sustainably will not only be a competitive advantage in the supply chain, but a necessity. National Sweden's investment in research and proprietary materials, circular processes and energy-efficient solutions in production is a role model in the industry. The progress and results from the investments made are communicated in an inspiring way and encourage more suppliers to sharpen their sustainability work. For their positive impact on supplier-level development, National Sweden is awarded the Supplier of the Year Award.”.
Together with six other companies, National Sweden was nominated for the Supplier of the Year Award 2023. The jury fell for the long-term sustainability work that the company has been running for the past 5-6 years. A job that is growing in importance for the automotive industry's suppliers when the entire mobility and transport sector implements the green transition.
”We started with an overhaul of our rubber side, where we have now developed a whole family of materials (Rubust® EPDM) with a significantly reduced CO2 footprint. Today, we also have several sustainable materials in fiber and plastic that we work with strategically, for example in the form of so-called "One Polymer Solutions" and the creation of closed circular material loops. Investments in buildings and production equipment have been made with clear sustainability aspects which enable future measurement of CO2 impact down to item level. We have also run an energy efficiency project together with the Swedish Energy Agency and Siemens, which resulted in an energy saving of 40 percent, says Joakim Fritz, adding that sustainability work not only permeates the entire business and is important for the future, but also constitutes a competitive advantage.
The Supplier of the Year Award is awarded annually to the individual or organization that has benefited the industry's development in Sweden. Areas assessed by the jury are design, entrepreneurship, environment, internationalization and research & development.
Last year, the award went to the workshop company AGES Industri, for the work in taking the metal industry's sustainability work to new heights and generously sharing it with other Swedish suppliers.
The award committee for the Supplier of the Year Award 2023 consisted of FKG chairman Martin Lidén, deputy chairman Christina Holgerson, CEO Peter Bryntesson, the winners from the last two years - Anders Magnusson, AGES Industri, and Clas Tengström, Bror Tonsjö AB, as well as Göran Björklund, senior advisor at the communications agency Newsroom.

What will your role be at National?
- My role as production manager will be to lead the daily production planning, distribution of resources and work with continuous improvements to optimize our manufacturing. I will also run various projects so that we can increase our capacity and develop our employees.
Previous employment?
- I have previously worked in the metal industry where I got to try different types of work in warehouses and manufacturing. I have worked with Lean Production and other improvement and development systems.
What expectations do you have for your role as Production Manager at National Bredaryd?
- I look forward to being part of a developing company and that I get to drive the business in Bredaryd towards new goals and live up to the expectations placed on me and my role. It will be an exciting journey with various improvement works and getting to deliver products to our customers with high quality as well as creating a lovely work environment with my co-workers where a laugh or a smile is always present.

What will be your job role at National?
- I work in the development department as specialist supporting for sales and our customers, carry out technical projects up to business and hold certain training courses, among other things.
Previous employment?
- I come from the textile industry and have worked with technical nonwovens for the past fifteen years, most recently as a business developer at a textile manufacturer and before that as a self-employed person / consultant. I have extensive experience from the manufacturing industry and from working with material technology solutions for the market.
You have extensive experience in delivering solutions to the furniture industry and the office segment - what conditions do you think National has as a subcontractor to this segment?
- What sets National apart from the outside is above all the broad material technology competence in how to work with rubber polymers, thermoplastics and also cork and fiber materials. National 'does' things in several ways that I believe the furniture industry values. We have a creative and curious way of working where we go from words to action quickly. It is easy to develop products with National because materials and processes are collected with us.
Do you see any trends in how subcontractors and producers will have to work in the future for better sustainability?
- There are several areas to take into account, but when it comes to materials in particular, it is a great advantage to look for solutions that have a low carbon footprint and that can be taken care of when they are used up. As I said, National has several types of material flows that it works with and also combination solutions. When these are combined, we see that the solution can be separated or recycled as mono-material. Through strategic collaborations, National has functioning closed loops for its material flows, which are absolutely necessary for producer responsibility requirements.
What do you think happens to companies that do not convert to sustainable production?
- Companies that do not consider sustainability aspects in their operations will find it more difficult or even discouraged to deliver goods in certain contexts, because the manufacturing industry makes clearer demands on suppliers in order for them to be able to cope with their own producer responsibility. But it's not just a whip but a lot of carrots as well, as many companies discover that they can develop in new positive ways that they might not have expected just a few years ago, concludes Johan.

What will be your job role at National?
As a Production Engineer, I will do my best to develop, improve and streamline the production process together with the operators and our team.
Previous employment?
- Among other things, I have worked as a CMO at Volvo, where I carried out optimization work in their production process for Volvo Powertrain.
In addition to that, I have worked for 18 years at Dormer Tools, where I laid the foundation for my know-how in tool geometries and optimizations in machining processes.
What is the most fun about production technology?
- The allure of production technology is to come up with solutions that improve production processes. Small improvements here and there can create big benefits both in terms of sustainability, working environment and cost savings. That is the challenge in the job, Stefan thinks.
What expectations do you have for your role?
- It will be exciting to work on the manufacturer side and be able to work long-term with optimization and cost savings.
What feeling have you had time to get from National?
I feel positive vibes, it's just a good crew here. After my third day of work, I was invited to the National afterwork at Tuvasvallen in Trönninge. Such informal meetings are important for getting to know each other better, concludes Stefan.

Som person behöver du vara flexibel och stresstålig då det är verksamhetens behov som kommer att styra din arbetsdag. Du måste ha god samarbets- och kommunikationsförmåga – eftersom du kommer att ha nära kontakt med produktionspersonalen.

Arbetstid 40tim/vecka; förlagd på kvällstid (mån-tors 14.15-01.00).
Lön enligt gällande kollektivavtal.
Tjänsten är en provanställning under 6 månader med start omgående. Om båda parter trivs och är nöjda går tjänsten över till en tillsvidareanställning efter provanställning.

Evy Hallberg - 46 years in duty
It is truly a true "Nationalare" who has now retired. She applied for a job at National in 1976 and got it - together with her brother Lasse. In addition to Evy and Lasse, Evy´'s husband, little brother and daughter have also worked for National for long periods. So the story of the National family is also in many ways a story of the Hallberg family. - I have been involved and experienced how all generations Rössel left their mark on National, Evy remembers. The founder Gunnard, his son Sven and grandchildren Tom, Johan and Claes have all helped to create a family atmosphere at the company, Evy says. She especially remembers Gunnard who every day was very careful to say good morning, good day and good evening. The family atmosphere is also one of the reasons why she has been Nationally faithful throughout the years, she says. Of course, it is the co-workers who have been the single most important thing to make her feel so good, but at National they have also felt appreciated by the management, which has made them build self-confidence and develop their skills throughout the years, Evy continues. She carries many memories, of course, but one thing stands out. There was a bus that picked up employees who had difficulty getting to work, which not many people believe when I tell them, says Evy. Several of the customers that Evy manufactured products for when she started at National are still customers of National, such as Volvo. The work environment has developed enormously since she started her employment. What people are complaining about today would be a dream come true in the 70s, she says. Then the work was at times heavy and tiring, while today we have machines that remedy heavy lifting, etc., she says. Evy was also one of the first four to be named National employer of the Year when this award was instituted and awarded in 2012. Now Evy will spend more time with her grandchildren and reading. Her border collie Meggie will also get more exercise, she says and laughs. It is worth mentioning that Evy´'s brother Gert still works at National - now with his son Kristoffer. Thank you Evy for all the great work you have done and contributed to the business!

Intro to Cirkularity by National
In Ghent, Belgium, Sandler and National work together by taking advantage of the material waste that arises in production.
In practice, this means that our production waste is returned to the material manufacturer Sandler, who uses it again in their material production. In this way, we can continue to manufacture fiber products with what was left over from our previous production. We think it's brilliant! We work with sustainable production - for real! National Sweden starts new factory in Gent, Belgium.
National Sweden Performance Polymers was founded in 1941 and is a major supplier of rubber, plastic and fiber articles to Swedish industry. In Sweden, National Sweden operates in Halmstad, Högsäter and Bredaryd.
National Sweden has been an exporting company for a long tie, but now the group is seriously taking a step out into Europe. Through the new factory facility in Gent, Belgium, the Group meets the demand in the European market in a more efficient way. The plant has been up-running since 1 February 2020 and the production is already in full swing.
- We have acquired a good position by succeeding in signing production agreements with major brands such as Volvo Trucks, says the CEO of Gent Per Gunnarsson.
For the truck manufacturer, National Sweden produces solutions that improve the driver environments in the cabin.
- We are moving towards a more electrified truck park, which implies partly new demands on sound and thermal insulation of the driver environments, which is an area we master very well, says Per Gunnarsson.
Our choice to place a production facility closer to European truck manufacturing is also an environmental statement. The proportion of unnecessary freight from Sweden to Europe is reduced to only a few miles between factory and customer, which benefits both us and the customers, concludes Per Gunnarsson, who is convinced that this development will benefit the Group as a whole.
All existing production capacity in Sweden will be retained and the Group is currently seeing a strong order intake in the Swedish facilities as well.

Tom Rössel, National Sweden sums up 2020
2020 is soon over. It was a different year, to say the least. But also instructive.
In the spring of 2020, the outlook for Swedish Industry changed drastically. We all experienced a concern about how people and companies would be affected by the development of the virus. How many would get sick? How many of us would be forced to see a close friend or family member suffer? It was worrying times among all of us at our 3 factories in Halmstad, Högsäter and Bredaryd.
We then felt a need to create a forum where we could internally talk about Covid-19. On March 1, we set up a first meeting with about ten employees. We gathered knowledge, exchanged thoughts and tried to analyze and think out different scenarios. We wanted to find a way to handle a possible impending crisis situation.
We met for an hour. Every day. We gathered knowledge. We tried to calm each other down. We discussed how we could get through the crisis and if so how? Union representatives, team members and management participated in our daily meeting routine. In week 14, our largest customers in the automotive industry closed their factories and, of course, the concerns became even more apparent. At the same time, the number of cases increased in Sweden and it became clear that we would all be hit hard, in one way or another. But at this time we noticed how the employees began to think in new directions and develop ideas on how we would get through the crisis and at the same time contribute our skills to the part of society that needed it most. A group began to investigate how we could help the care system. Another group took over and started sketching products that we had never made before. A third group contacted suppliers and other manufacturers with whom we needed to collaborate in the projects.
We decided to turn a negative feeling into a fervent embrace, which aimed to contribute to society.
Extensive adjustment of production to meet healthcare needs.
In less than a week, we bought used machines that our service technicians refurbished. Prototypes were made and after approved samples, production began on both care aprons in PE plastic which we punched and welded together, but also foam rubber parts for protective visors. We learned something new and we contributed, which felt enormously stimulating and it has created a positive energy in the business.
We fight together as a team.
Before the summer, National Sweden received, as part of surviving planning for a major notice and together with our union representatives, we discussed which solutions would then be most appropriate to proceed with, based on our employees and our business. We know that National Sweden is a great security for people in our immediate area. Our factories are located in smaller communities where several families have their only livelihood through us. We know that a large number of subcontractors are also dependent on us. And. We managed to avoid making the notice a reality by working even harder together.
How have we evolved?
We have learned a lot during the year. 2020 was the year when our sustainability work took a big step forward at all our facilities. We have worked for a long time to produce new materials with reduced CO2 levels and now we see that the market is starting to choose these to an increasing extent. In general, we have raised our competence in terms of sustainability to a new level. We feel that we can guide customers to choose the right material and the right process from a sustainability perspective. We have learned to handle an uneven order intake, with sometimes very high peaks. During the year, we also started full production in the new factory in Bredaryd, which is very positive. In Bredaryd, we are actually more employees now that the year is coming to an end than we were when 2020 began.
The team that makes up National Sweden has been tested in 2020, in the same way that all other industries have had to fight. 2021 is now knocking on the door. The second wave of Covid19 infection is in full swing. We have adapted our workplaces and digitized the meetings that do not require a physical presence. We are developing and we see that our new way of working works. We are proud of our team. We have been constantly evolving since 1941. We will continue to develop, rest assured.

We manufacture polyester products from recycled PET
At National Sweden, the production of polyester products takes place in a sustainable way. Our polyester fiber consists of recycled PET, which means that our product is environmentally sustainable.
In parallel, we are working on a project together with Rise (The Research Institute of Sweden) which aims to return our production waste of polyester to companies in the textile industry to be used for yarn production. We do this to create another positive material loop. We will tell you more about this project in a little while.

A rubber compound for the future
To reduce our climate impact, we began a major environmental project in 2018. We wanted to create a rubber compound for the future - a more sustainable alternative that had a less harmful effect on the climate.
A team of National employees has since worked hard to develop, test and analyze a rubber compound with a lower CO2 footprint than in previous rubber compounds.
We are now sure that these efforts for the future have paid off. In September 2020, the Swedish Environmental Institute carried out a CO2 estimation of our new rubber compound, which shows a significantly lower CO2 footprint now compared with before.
Specifically 35% lower CO2 footprint / kg compared to our standard EPDM rubber compound!
IVL Swedish Environmental Institute's conclusion is that "producing Eco EPDM instead of regular EPDM means a reduction of climate impact by 35%"
The use of a partially bio-based EPDM but also a change in the recipe together contribute to this reduction of climate impact.

SVIS - Sustainable Vehicle Interior Solutions

The project is divided into a number of work packages with clear milestones and each work package addresses a well-defined area. The project will be run cross-functionally where the different parties can inspire each other and unexpected spinoffs can occur.

National Sweden offers free drawing materials
At the time of writing, we have started production of about 100,000 protective coats for healthcare. We have more projects underway, but right now we want more companies to help cover healthcare's great need for protective clothing.
Therefore, we have made the somewhat unusual but currently only real decision to make our manufacturing process an "open source". We therefore share the design that is approved by Region Halland, so that more manufacturers than National Sweden can help meet the need.

All National Sweden plants are still open – but with some differences.
At National Halmstad we have reduced our office workdays according to the following:
Mon – Thu: 09:00 – 12:00 | 13:00 -15:00
Fri: 08:00 – 12:00
Production is still running at a fair level and we are eager to fill up the gaps created by the current situation in the automotive industry.
During this period we try to help develop protective materials for medical personnel.
National Högsäter will increase the workdays to Tuesday - Thursday from 11/5.
National Bredaryd is running without disturbances.
We have also noticed an increased need from customers in the medical segment and we are working hard to meet this demand.
Several of our customers in the automotive sector are now opening up, but the ramp up is very slow to check if all systems are OK.
Our complete supply chain is operational.

National Sweden launches bio-based EPDM
National Sweden has developed a new bio-based rubber material, which can replace the EPDM materials currently used in many industries in Europe and the rest of the world.
Bio-based raw materials are fossil-free, which creates enormous opportunities for the future while providing positive environmental effects throughout the manufacturing industry.
“Yes, in this way we give the entire manufacturing industry the opportunity to meet new environmental requirements while helping our customers meet their own high environmental goals,” says Alma Begeta, Material Manager at National.
Eco EPDM, which National calls the material, has been tested and evaluated with very good physical properties. The work of testing, improving and reducing the oil-based ingredients has taken about 3 years, but now there is the market and the material has the potential to really create sustainability in the rubber industry. It also has documented properties for being in contact with food, which opens up for a further type of use.
"We at National are constantly striving and working to replace environmentally hazardous and fossil raw materials," says Alma Begeta. We want to be the example of managing our finite resources, such as naphtha / crude oil. Eco EPDM is a good example of this work, environmental awareness is high on the company and she wishes it to be so throughout the industry.
- Of course, not everyone has the same resources as we have here at National, Alma admits, but we are open to collaborations. For example, we have continuous collaborations with other major material suppliers and we let them environmental test their materials with us.
- We at National do not think it is sustainable to use ingredients that come from recycled rubber products in the production process. We see that the risk is high that these contain substances, which we have long since phased out of our business for environmental and health reasons.
- We do not want to risk returning ingredients that are not desirable in our processes, we do not think this is a sustainable alternative for the environment and staff health but would rather see that renewable raw materials are used, concludes Alma.

ECO EPDM compared to regular EPDM
ECO EPDM consists of only 25-55% of crude oil based substances.
Ordinary EPDM consists of 85-95% of crude oil based substances.

National and Polestar makes 1:st class Sound pack.
National Sweden in Halmstad, together with Polestar and TATA Technologies, have developed a Sound Pack with outstanding performance for Polestar 1. In March, a workshop took place in our facilities in Halmstad, where we, together with TATA Technologies and Polestar, conducted several exercises, which resulted in a number of iterations with the purpose of getting a top class Sound Pack. We will continue to be a partner in the project and we are of course very grateful for the trust and the developing spirit that surrounds the project! The environmental aspect of the work is of course in focus and all materials chosen are of recycled PET bottles. Design and sustainability - at it's best!

Exciting project with design students
Old textiles and clothing have become a completely new material, with the help of National Sweden and creative furniture design students. National Högsäter and furniture designs Anna Roth and Joel Stenabb from HDK - Academy of Design and Crafts and Loop Factory are among the first in the country to design with a new type of textile fiber material - the result was shown at Möbelmässan in Stockholm earlier in February. Fun project and one of many exciting steps towards sustainability.

Sustainable production in Högsäter
Growing volumes of plastic and textile waste is a major environmental problem that needs to be solved through the development of recycling processes. A new research project focusing on recycling plastic packaging of polyethylene terephthalate, PET, and polyester textile waste will contribute to the development of utilizing the material instead of sending it to incineration.
National Högsäter together with RISE IVF and 12 other partners in a group runs the project "Chemically recycled PET and polyester as raw material for additive and new polymer" funded by the RE:Source research program. The project develops a process to chemically break down the plastic and textile into original building blocks, which can then be used to produce new polymer for PET, polyester or synthesize environmentally friendly plasticizers to PVC.
The challenges in the project are, among others, to take care of contaminations such as glue, labels, dyes and foreign polymers that come with the "raw materials" and to close the loop for the use of solvents in the process. Recycled PET packaging and polyester textiles will be used to produce new plastic and fiber and the properties will be evaluated This is important and crucial for the new material to be used for the manufacture of new products.

National Halmstad sponsors solar-powered cars!
National Halmstad sponsors one of the world's most innovative and environmentally friendly vehicles! HUST (Halmstad University Solar Team) will participate in The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. It is the world’s biggest solar-powered car race. It started in 1987 and takes place every other year. In the competition, teams of students from universities all over the world are going to drive 3022 kilometers from the north to the south of Australia – from Darwin to Adelaide.
National Halmstad, a well-known supplier of rubber and plastic components for the automotive industry, will provide the HUST team with components for the car and be a speaking partner in engineering challenges along the developing phases.
"It's very fun for National to be able to contribute to Halmstad's development car, and the project follows the environmental value base that we build our business on,” says Tom Rössel, Group CEO at National Sweden. The race will start in October 2019 in Darwin, north Australia.

New CEO at National Högsäter!
Einari Johansson resign as CEO of National Högsäter on December 1, 2018. Einari is one of the founders of the Jaba Group (current National Högsäter). He has with great skill and great competence developed the business to the successful company it is today. To his successor, Kenneth Larsson is appointed. Kenneth comes recently from Emballator Mellerud Plast where he was the factory manager. "In my leadership, I will utilize the broad and extensive experience in National Högsäter, but I will also challenge processes and methods to further develop the company," says Kenneth. National Högsäter has been and is a documented respected manufacturer of molded polyester and textile fibers for both the automotive and furniture industry, and I want to manage and develop that further. There is a lovely setting that I can see here in Högsäter, says Kenneth. We do not take anything for granted but instead delivering on the basis of the conditions available. We wish Kenneth great luck and also thank Einari for an amazingly good leadership for all years he has been active in the company!

Good times for National Högsäter!
The production unit in Högsäter has since this summer recruited about 10 new employees. Close customer collaboration and new projects are the background to the large recruitment. "Extremely pleased that we are given the opportunity to hire more talented employees for our exciting projects," says Einari Johansson, CEO of National Högsäter. We can see increasing interest in polyester production segment, which is entirely in line with our plan. It is one of our focus areas and the recruitments are a receipt of our efforts.

Summer and holiday time at National Sweden!
Spring has been extremely eventful and positive for the entire group. Now we need some vacation before we finish this year. All production units have more and bigger projects than ever, which feels hugely stimulating and fun.

National Bredaryd invests in new Cleanroom.
National Bredaryd has expanded its capacity for customer support within the Medical segment. In our new Cleanroom, we will be even better at meeting our clients' assignments that include extrusion, assembly, labeling and final packaging. The run-in time has shown very good results and we are in full production since a couple of month. The investment has been implemented because of the increased demand, which is very pleasing!

National Halmstad improves Viskan's spa bath!
Together with Viskan's Spa and CE Produkter, National Halmstad has developed a unique polyester fiber insulation solution that will handle the Scandinavian climate. Moreover, the material developed is tested and developed in Nationals sound lab to meet the requirements for better sound absorption. The material absorbs the sound of the pumps, resulting in a better customer experience. Viskan Spa is Sweden's only spa bath manufacturer. They know what it takes to meet the Swedish climate conditions. In Sweden, it can differ over 50° C between winter and summer. The large temperature difference along with wind and moisture conditions means that more efficient insulation materials are required in the Swedish market than most others. –The combination of thermal insulation and sound absorption in the material actually lacks the opposite of the market," says Johan Eriksson at Viskans Spa. We call the material Pro-Silence Insulation, which is exactly what it is. –In addition to the good thermal and sound absorbing properties, the material consists of recycled fibers, which feels really good from an environmental and sustainability perspective”, says Joakim Eliasson on CE Produkter. The cooperation between us at NationaI Halmstad, CE Produkter in Unnaryd and Viskan's Spa in Skene has worked out really well and we already focus to refine and further develop the products, says Per Gunnarsson from National Halmstad. Say hello to National Sweden!
As previously announced, the companies National Gummi AB, DX Plastic AB and Jaba Group AB have changed their naming structure. The companies are owned by Holding Company National Sweden Holding. The new company names will be National Högsäter Performance Polymers AB (former Jaba Group AB), National Bredaryd Performance Polymers AB (former DX Plastic AB), National Halmstad Performance Polymers AB (former National Gummi AB).
Until June 1, 2018, the previous company names will also be used and communicated to make the transition as smooth as possible.
For customers and suppliers, please retain the previous company names in your business systems until June 1, 2018. The company registration numbers for each company are the same as previous.
All of these three companies have a fantastic history and solid skills in the polymer manufacturing industry, which together make us a unique player within and outside Sweden. We are convinced that the new name structure will make the business group stronger in a longer perspective and will benefit both customers, suppliers and partners.
