Some materials have particularly good insulating and high-temperature resistant properties, which makes them suitable for forming parts with high safety requirements. For example, heat shields or shielding that should protect other sensitive parts in a vehicle or device benefit from mineral fiber such as basalt fiber or fiberglass.

Mineral fiber has a long life and usually exceeds the life of the product in which they are installed.
